I know so many small charity people are struggling with a lack of time and limited budgets right now, combined with huge pressure and overwhelm. You may have an over-reliance on one or two income streams - which is completely normal - but are aware this is a risk. You know trust fundraising could be an untapped income source, but have no idea where to put your limited time and energy and what will actually get results.
Trust Fundraising in a Box is a comprehensive toolkit designed to take the guesswork out of trust fundraising, and give you a clear roadmap to do the work yourself, without needing to pay for external support. It includes clear, practical step-by-step video and written guides to support you through all the actions you need to take to get up and running, as well as templates for all the documents and spreadsheets you need to create. The focus is on making your trust fundraising as efficient and effective as possible, using tried and tested methods to maximise your success with the limited time you have!
The course and toolkit costs £150, which can be paid either in full or as 3 monthly payments of £50.

Learn what trusts and foundations are, and how they operate and make decisions. Understand the different stages of the trust fundraising cycle - the key building blocks of successful trust fundraising.
Learn where to look for trusts who may be interested in funding your organisation, the key funder information you need to gather to assess potential alignment with your organisation and build a 'pipeline' of potential funders. Understand how to make a realistic projection for potential income from the trusts and foundations you have identified.
Develop a 'Case for Support' for your organisation and key projects, which you can then use to develop funding applications. Learn about the different types of funding application you may come across, and how you can use your case for support and develop application templates to be as efficient as possible with your time. Understand how to cultivate relationships with funders to give you the best chance of securing funds.
Understand the next steps once a grant application has been submitted. What to do if an application is not successful, and actions to take when it is. Learn how to steward funders well and develop funder reports, to give you the best chance of securing further funds!
Here are some of the questions I've had from small charities interested in Trust Fundraising in a Box.
The course and toolkit is designed to be self-paced. You could watch/read the course materials back-to-back in an afternoon, but the course is designed to guide you through the process of setting up trust fundraising as you go, and the actual work of doing this will take a lot longer! The important thing is to put regular, consistent time into your trusts fundraising. To get the best results I’d suggest dedicating 0.5-1 day a week to this work.
I can’t tell you exactly how much you are going to raise at this stage - a big part of the prospect research section of this course is seeing what grants are out there that could be a good match for your charity, and from there, forecasting the likely income from those grants. The template application tracker I provide is set up to help you calculate this.
But, as an example, even if you raised £5,000 in grants, this would give you a return of £32 for every £1 invested.
The course includes short video lessons, as well as written guides - which contain more-or-less the same information in different formats, perfect for referring back to as you go. There are four main sections of the course relating to the different areas of trust fundraising - introduction to trust fundraising, prospect research, developing applications, and securing grants. Downloadable templates are provided for all the documents you need to create in each section, in either excel, google docs or powerpoint format.
Imagine it’s 6 months from now - you’re excited to have secured your first few grants! The funders you’re targeting are a great fit for your organisation, and your applications are clear and compelling. You're well on your way to a sustainable income stream. I’d love this to be you! Join Trust Fundraising in a Box today and I'll help you get there.
